Video sharing site YouTube launched a trial scheme paid channel that offers a variety of video content. In the pilot project, a small number of content creators will provide subscription channels and costs start at 0.99 U.S. Dollars per month.
During the initial offers, each channel offers a 14-day free trial period and perhaps discounts for subscription periods a year, according to a report from the BBC.
The video sharing site Google-owned, it stated, the launch of paid channels is part of an effort to create “content creators earn revenue from their creativity.”
YouTube paid services at an early stage is made up of 53 channels that includes diverse segment, including National Geographic Kids, Acorn-United Kingdom television series service providers and Fix My Hog Premium targeting lovers of Harley Davidson.
“It’s a new beginning,” said YouTube in their blog. “We will bring up the broader paid channels in the coming weeks.”
